How is rowing organised at RV De Hertog?
Rowing Commissioner
The rowing commissioner is a board member and creates the conditions for all rowing activities by own members, the reception of new members and the participation in competitions by members. Facilitates a good working environment for the committees and coordinators in the 'rowing' portfolio.
The committees and coordinators in the rowing portfolio jointly ensure that new members are introduced to rowing, become members, are well trained and can take exams, that lateral entrants and members who fall between the cracks are given a place again, that we can do indoor rowing and that we can row competitions and marathons and that the boat distribution is arranged in a pleasant manner.
Introduction Committee
Organizes and supervises the inflow of new (inexperienced) rowers within the association. We distinguish between the Introduction Committee for evening-weekend rowers and the Introduction Committee Midweek for rowers who row during the day.
Examination Committee
Assesses the skill with which someone can row or steer by taking exams in the field of rowing, steering and theory. The examination committee is independent in its judgment.
Coaching Committee
Coordinates the training policy and provides the Basic Instruction Course (BIC). The coaching committee takes initiatives to increase the quality of rowing instruction. The current focus is on stimulating participation of our members in KNRB RI-2 training so that in the coming years we will work on a good training of our coaches based on KNRB standards. The coaching committee also ensures, where necessary, matching of coaches and teams that need a coach.
Steering Instruction Committee (STIC)
Provides training for Steering A, Steering B, the instruction 'Steering in the 8+' and monitors the quality of steering training and steering instruction in general.
